Postwar French Cinema

Postwar French Cinema incorporated new influences in cinematic form and narration.  As in Italy, the choice of subject had moved to include common characters, the ordinary citizen as the protagonist of the film.

For our purposes, French cinema also becomes a critical meeting ground because of the French colonialism and wars against its colonial possessions in Vietnam and Algeria.
